Stator and Fiberglass Casting

I mixed 800ml of fiberglass resin with some chopped fiberglass. I added 1200ml of marble dust. This is about a 60% mix of mineral to resin. I used a lot of braces to keep it flat. I later used ATH (alumina trihydrate). I kept the ratio somewhere between 50-60% ATH to fiberglass resin.

 

Here, I used my dremil to cut off the scrap. The next stop is to coat with epoxy paint. If you look at 3 o'clock you can see one of the brass inserts for the wire connection.

I coated the fiberglass resin with epoxy paint and then sprayed with a coat of acrylic enamel Auto Clear Coat.
